Smart Long-Wave Infrared Camera is making a big Difference to Safety

Bild
German Tech Magazines visited ADASKY on IAA MOBILITY in Munich to report on its game changing thermal sensor technology.  A new thermal sensor fills a safety gap revealed by the AAA (American Automobile Association). Unlike other sensors that are limited by heavy rain, blinding sunlight and dense fog, the long-wave infrared sensors from Israeli startup ADASKY  work in all visibility conditions. This is piquing the interest of German automakers, and ADASKY demonstrated the capabilities of its sensor at the IAA MOBILITY  show. The German tech magazine "Hanser Automotive" reported on it. Here the  Link to article   The follwing video shows the sensor function and performance.

Lidar Sensors become efficient and cost effective: Opsys @ AutoSens, Brussels

Alex is presenting Opsys' lidar technology The pandemic situation forced us to exchange our ideas and views via virtual communication tools. At the AutoSens conference in Brussels the advantage to discuss live and experience live Q&A on topics key for the mobility of the future was recognized obviously by all participants. There is a lot of progress in the sensor field. For example Opsys Tech presented in front of more than 300 attendees a new category of scanning technology: Scanning Microflash Lidar for autonomous vehicles. Opsys Tech’s patented Scanning Microflash technology combines the best of existing methods, delivering the advantages of flash lidar (low cost, robust and solid-state) with the better range and resolution of mechanical-sweep or oscillating mirrors (MEM / Galvanometer). The 2 days conference  revealed complexity and costs are the most worried troublemakers and hurdle race for the engineers. More about this "race"  has been published recently in

Kann der Staat die Transformation überhaut unterstützen? Wie soll das gehen?

Bild

Public support for transformation? How to do it right?

Bild
In the IAA Conference panel " Transforming to new strengths - How business locations need to adapt to the transformation of the automotive industry" the head of North Rhine Westphalia‘s cluster automotiveland.nrw Stephan Vogelskamp discussed with Margot James (University of Warwick) former British Minister of State responsible for digitalization, with Clemens Baumgärtner (City of Munich), Sérgio Domingues (Georgia Department of Economic Development) and Doron Hemo (Consulate General Israel). How can regions help their industries transform. While Munich and the other regions support the industry, mainly from an administrative point of view, the reverse approach of the NRW Cluster received a lot of attention: First the supplier industry is contacting government organizations with clear ideas about the transformation, proposing projects, and eventually in the next step support measures and initiatives by the state  are taken together with the industry efficiently, in line with
